Cuteshwars-Folk toys from Gujarat
The folk toys are made by traditional toy makers from Gujarat and Rajasthan, with the fabric off cuts to make these bundles of joy.
Though the toys have been made using only hand skills, with little finish, there are tiny spots of rawness, giving an evidence of hand stitching. I love the way the artisans have played with color combinations, the stitches and the placement of prints and patterns.
If you end up buying any of these, I am sure you will be able to ignore some of these tiny flaws and admire the overall innocence.
